Patton ShiftController
Self-hosted workforce scheduling, GPS-validated attendance, and Telegram-native communication — built for multi-site security and protection operations.
The challenge
Multi-site operations live or die on three operational questions answered correctly every day: who is on shift, where, and did they actually arrive on time. Generic time-tracking tools collapse under the weight of rotating personnel, location-scoped supervisors, on-call contracts, geofenced sites, and the regulatory burden of worker monitoring. Enterprise workforce-management platforms answer all of it at a price point that excludes any operation under two hundred staff and at the cost of putting sensitive shift data into a third-party cloud.
Our approach
Patton ShiftController is the operational platform FRT runs internally for its own engagements. It treats each physical site as a first-class entity with its own geofence, its own supervisor scope, and its own publication cadence, and it puts every state change in front of the right human on Telegram within seconds. Patton ships as a single self-hostable package — 800 KB, PHP 8.1 plus MySQL, deployable on any standard hosting in under an hour — so the client retains full control of the data and the underlying code, with the option of managed hosting from FRT in the EU.
What's included
What's included
- Multi-city, multi-site shift planning with per-city publication cadence and visibility windows
- GPS-validated clock-in with server-side geofence enforcement and Wi-Fi kiosk fallback for indoor locations
- Location-scoped supervisor role for distributed accountability without exposing the full schedule
- Telegram-native notifications, request approvals via inline keyboards, and a complete acknowledgement audit trail
- PEC-compliant intermittent workforce module for jurisdictions requiring certified monthly call-up notices
- Installable Progressive Web App for operators — no app-store deployment required, full mobile experience on first touch
- Reporting and CSV exports compatible with downstream payroll systems
Engagement
Patton is delivered in three modes — self-install, assisted install, and managed hosting in the EU. A guided walkthrough on demo data precedes any commitment. Production deployment, with initial roster import and Telegram bot configuration, is typically one to three business days. Source is available under commercial licence to contracted clients; the underlying codebase is auditable in its entirety, with no telemetry calling home.
Coverage
Self-hosted on client infrastructure or managed by FRT in the EU.
FAQ
Common questions.
- Who is Patton ShiftController built for?
- Operations of five to a hundred and fifty staff rotating across one to thirty physical sites — security firms, concierge and hospitality teams, cleaning companies, home-care providers, retail chains and venue staffing. The data model scales further; the user experience is deliberately tuned for this band.
- How does the GPS clock-in stay compliant with worker-monitoring regulations?
- Coordinates are evaluated server-side at the moment of clock-in and discarded. The platform records only the boolean result — inside the geofence or outside — never a location history, never a position between shifts. This satisfies the strictest readings of Italian Article 4 of the Workers' Statute and the GDPR purpose-limitation principle, and equivalent frameworks across the EU.
- Can Patton run on our own infrastructure?
- Yes. The package is a self-contained PHP application that runs on any standard LAMP environment — Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed, IIS. No external SaaS dependency, no node build step, no proprietary runtime. The full source, schema and installation guide ship with the package.
- What does the Telegram integration cover?
- Shift assignments, schedule changes, late-arrival alerts, missing-clockout closure, request approvals with inline-button workflow, daily site-status digests, and the intermittent workforce notification flow. Operators register their chat with a one-tap pairing link. All transactional messages go through bots the client controls.
- How does it differ from FRT's general Security Software Solutions offering?
- Patton ShiftController is a specific product within that offering — the workforce coordination platform we have hardened in production. The broader Security Software Solutions line covers other tooling categories, including vetting workflows and confidential communications, on a project basis.
- Is there a published price?
- No. Pricing depends on deployment mode (self-install, assisted install, managed hosting), the number of sites, and the support tier. A fixed-scope quote follows the discovery call.
